Ian has deep experience in executive and board-level search across the insurance, consumer finance, fintech, professional service and not-for-profit sectors. This spans public, private and private equity-backed companies, as well as charities and other not-for-profit organisations. Before joining Sainty, Hird & Partners in 2015, Ian set up the Financial Services practice at The Miles Partnership in 2002. Previously he worked at Russell Reynolds Associates and was a Managing Director at Newman, Martin & Buchan Ltd, an international insurance brokerage firm. Ian also established Global Special Risks Inc., a New York-based energy sector wholesale broker. He began his career at Willis Faber in 1983.
