Biography
Daan Heijting (1969) studied accountancy at NIVRA and the University of Amsterdam and worked as an accountant at the Tax and Customs Administration and KPMG. From 2000 to 2020 he worked in the pension sector, successively at Pensioenfonds PNO Media, Pensioenfonds ING and PGB Pensioendiensten, Pensioenfonds PGB's own administrative organization. As director of Pensioenfonds ING, he built up an administrative office. At PGB Pensioendiensten, Daan, as general director, put together a new management team and ensured good cooperation between the fund and the administrative organization. As a member of the Executive Board of the Pension Federation, he has enjoyed contributing to the enforceability of new legislation, including the new pension contract. Daan has gained experience in business services, the pension sector and the asset management sector. Since 2020, he has been responsible for the recruitment and selection of board members, directors, supervisory directors and other supervisors for clients in these sectors.
Daan is driven, analytical and structured, but also interested, connecting and open. An accountant who loves people more than numbers. He is curious about the personal development that candidates go through and about the strategic challenges organizations face. He gets energized when organizations and people perform well. That is also the reason for his switch: “The basis of every successful organization is a high-performing team. Putting together such a team is a profession. For me there is no nicer place to practice that profession than The Executive Network.”
